1906 to 1910
Decision Finally Rendered by Hon. Chief Justice Shepard of the Court of Appeals in Washington, D. C. Brothers and Sisters, it is, it was, and it will always be forever etched in stone within the Legal Books, Files, and Records for all to see that the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge A. F. & A. M. in the District of Columbia was ruled the Sustaining Legality of the Lawful Legal and Regular M. W. Grand Lodge of A. F. and A. Masons of Washington, D. C. of which the Most Hon. Ill. Henry C. Scott 33rd was Grand Master. Included in that same ruling was the affiliated Grand Lodge the M. W. St. John's Grand Lodge A. F. and A. Masons of Chicago, Illinois of which the Most Hon. Ill. John G. Jones 33rd was Grand Master. This ruling proves that Grand Masters Henry C. Scott had the Sovereignty and Authority to obtain a Warrant of Constitution to operate from the White Grand Lodge in the Republic of Romania in 1896, to be Recognized as Regular and Legal to operate in the United States of America separate and distinct from Prince Hall Masons and their affiliated bodies. So there is no need for Clandestine talk anymore, the debate was over in 1910 with a Sweeping Victory in the Court of Appeals in Washington, D. C. At the end of the day, It All comes down to Jurisdiction, Lineage, and Recognition as to what makes a Masonic Body Legal and Regular. |
06.27.1847
Legal Implications The Legal Implications from these rulings were from a long four-year lawsuit that was described in the legal documents as a bitterly contested, debated, and awaited decision by the Chief Justice of the Court of Appeals in our Nation's Capital, Washington, D. C. It says it was an unanimous decision stating, "The case filings by Grand Master Grimshaw of the [Bogus Prince Hall Masons] Court of appeals dismissed the cross-bill and its complaints and requests contained therein and so rules that Grimshaw, Grand Master of the Bogus Prince Hall Grand Lodge should pay the Hon. H. C. Scott Grand Master of the [REGULAR and LEGAL] Grand Lodge of Masons of Washington, D. C. half of the cost of the court. " “The National Grand Lodge" of 1847 is implicated in this ruling too, proving that Grand Master John G. Jones (J.G.J.) of Chicago, IL. had the authority to organize his Regular Legal and Recognized Grand Lodge separate from Prince Hall Masons too. That would include any other affiliated Grand Lodges, Consistories, Supreme, Shrinedum, or National body with him and the M. W. Grand Lodge of Washington, D.C. For instance, J.G.J.'s Grand Lodge was a part of the National Grand Lodge that was Originally est. on June 27, 1847, in Boston, MA, but it was reorganized and renamed by Ill. John G. Jones in August 9, 1889 as the "National Masonic Congress A.F. & A. M. in Cleveland, OH. John G. Jones then went back and resolved to change the name of his organization of Grand Lodges to "The General Grand Masonic Congress of the United States of America" (G.G.M.C.) in 1896; giving him the authority to name the M. W. Grand Lodge of Washington D.C. as its Holy see with its attached Warrant of Operation from Romania that was also given in the same year of 1896, the year that the M. W. Grand Lodge’s Legally split from the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge F & A. M of Washington, D.C. was ruled by the courts to be deemed “Bogus.” |
After the Ill. H. C. Scott 33rd went to Romania and received his Warrant of Constitution to operate in 1896, he took it back to the United States and began to gather and heal other affiliated Grand Lodges under its authority. This included the M. W. St. John’s Grand Lodge in Chicago, IL. whose Grand Master was Ill. John G. Jones 33rd. and the M. W. St. Andrew Grand Lodge of Louisiana whose Grand Master was Ill. W. T. Grant of New Orleans, LA. Hence, J.G.J. later used his authority and the Romanian Warrant of Constitution to heal and included other Legal & Regular Newly formed Grand Lodges throughout the United States of America. Other Grand Lodges continued to be added to the General Grand Masonic Congress like The Most Worshipful King Solomon Grand Lodge of Texas A.F. & A. Masons located in San Antonio, TX on March 19th, 1908, notably the Ill. Chas. L. Mitchell was Grand Master and later became one of the President General of the G.G.M.C. from (1918-1925). Then to add to their victory, there was the historical 1910 landmark ruling of the Appellate Court #2007 of Washington D. C. over the M. W. Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Masons in Washington, D.C.
1906 to 1910
Revision of Erroneous Decision of Lower Courts: Court of Appeals No. 2007 The Appellate Court #2007 said, "The decision rendered [in the Lower Courts] by Judge Wright was an error and Unwise...It is Impossible to put out of existence and prevent the Lawful and Regular Legal Grand Lodge of which H. C. Scott is Grand Master and the Sister Grand Lodges and their Subordinates and Associates from operating in the United States." To put another vial rumor to bed...The Appellate Court also confirmed in its ruling the following in this statement, "This Body known as the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge Ancient, Free, and Accepted Masons of the District of Columbia having received its Warrants of Constitution from the White Grand Lodge A. F. and A. Masons of the Republic of Romania and Incorporated by an Act of THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS 1896...has a right to be and to carry on their Legitimate business..." I ask you now, is there any more reason to further doubt the Legality and Legitimacy of our Linage and Jurisdiction, Sovereignty and Authority...I think not. |
Furthermore, I submit to you that in 1896 the Sister Grand Lodges under the General Grand Masonic Congress and its Holy see, The M. W. Grand Lodge of D. C., A. F. & A. M. were also a part of the United Supreme Council (U.S.C.) Southern and Western Jurisdiction where John G. Jones was the Most Puissant Sovereign Grand Commander, from 1895 - 1914 It was earlier in the year of 1895 when Thornton A. Jackson was the Most. P Sov. Grand Commanders of the U.S.C. Southern and Western Jurisdiction that included the Southern Supreme Council and the Ill. John G. Jones 33rd was his Lt. Sovereign Grand Commander who helps him start up his first Consistory in 1895. It was known as, and still is, John G. Jones Consistory #1 in Washington, D. C. In August of 1895 John G. Jones was elected as the New Most. P Sov. Grand Commanders of the U.S.C. Southern and Western Jurisdiction. As stated earlier, the Consistory that he started in D.C., along with the M. W. Grand Lodge of Washington D.C. A. F. & A. M. are still in operation and affiliated with the United Supreme Council of the Southern and Western Jurisdiction and the General Grand Masonic Congress to this day making them the Holy see and Oldest of Organizations in both Jurisdictions.
Thanks to the forward thinking and perseverance of Great Masonic Men like The Hon. John G. Jones of Illinois, H. C. Scott & N. F. Henry of Washington, D.C., W. T. Grant of Louisiana, along with over 50,000 affiliates and members; to include the statements of several High Ranking A.F.& A. Masons from the Republic of Romania. This so called
"Great Debate" was settled over 100 years ago. Special recognition and thanks should also go out to The Brilliant Legal Team of Mr. William A. Allison and Mr. Charles Kergwin that helped forge a Legal and Recognized path forward for us "Colored Masons" at the time, so we do NOT have to Ever argue the Facts of our Legitimacy Again with anyone. The legal documentation, warrants of constitution, and affidavits from our Founding Fathers and International Brothers solidified the fact that we are Regular and Recognized Masons Worldwide; to include the United States of America. This Historic Decision was Established and Recorded for All to see and read in the Court of Appeals No. 2007 in Washington, D.C. on February 1, 1910. NOTE: (All Legal Documents are Public Record) 03.06.1775 Prince Hall & (PHA) Legitimacy? What did the Appellate Court papers from the Court of Appeals in Washington D.C. No. 2007 in the year 1910, and the Grand Lodge of England say about the Making of Prince Hall a Mason and granting African Lodge No. 459 a Warrant of Constitution to operate in the United States of America? What is another name for a Voluntary Self Constituted nonaffiliated or recognized so call set of Masons with no lineage or historical governing body to work with? Is it Bogus, Clandestine, or Irregular? NOTE: Masonic bodies comprise of several groups such as: lodges, chapters, councils, commanderies, and consistories. These, in turn, construct the fraternity of Freemasonry, also called "Ancient Free and Accepted Masons” which are regulated by private groups of members. |
JURISDICTION & RECOGNIZED REGULARITY
A functional Masonic body is the Masonic Lodge that grants the first three degrees in Masonry, being that of Entered Apprentice, Fellowcraft, and Master Mason. Being the operational body, Masonic Lodge alone can make a mason within its Jurisdictional Powers. In Freemasonry, regularity is one of the factors by which individual Grand Lodges make the conscious decision according to their Bylaw's, Constitution, Rules, and Customs, to judge whether to recognize one another for the purposes of allowing formal interaction at the Grand Lodge level. This can trickle down to the Blue Lodge level too as it relates to visitation by members of other jurisdictions. Each individual Grand Lodge determines which other Grand Lodges it wants to recognize and consider or deem Regular (and the standards for determining this are not uniform between Grand Lodges or Jurisdictions). Each Individual Grand Lodge is Sovern within its own jurisdiction with its own set of Rules and Regulations. |
My Opine:
Most, if not All four-letter Masons from the linage of Ill. Henry C. Scott 33rd, who got the Warrant of Constitution from The 1880 National Grand Lodge of the Republic of Romania A. F & A. M, and won the Legal case of 1910 for the M. W. Grand Lodge of Washington, D. C., A. F. & A. Masons Do Not get all worked up about are you Prince Hall Affiliated or Not? Are you a 4 Letter Mason or a 3 Letter Mason? Most if not All four-letter Masons from the linage of Ill. John G. Jones 33rd, who renamed and reorganized the General Grand Masonic Congress (G.G.M.C.). To include those affiliated with the U. S. C. Southern and Western Jurisdiction of the United States and Canada (A.A.S.R.), and The Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (A.A.O.N.M.S); Do Not Care about 3 letter or 4 letter issues. We Do Not Ostracize a Good Brother Mason or say I can't talk to you based on your Affiliation or Jurisdiction with fear of reprisal. We Do Not teach disassociation of Good Brothers or teach Hate and Malice. We Do Not really care...because that was all settled in 1910's Sweeping Victory. Everything done in the separation process from Prince Hall Masonry was Ruled Legal and Right. We now Only Seek Light, to Give Charity, and Extend Brotherly Love, Truth, and Relief when and wherever possible. If you can prove yourself to be a Good Man, Worthy, and Well Qualified of being recognized as a True Brother Mason, we good.... I will great you in the name of God and request that you Travel Light and Look to the East. We can Meet, Part. and Act upon the Level, Plumb, and Square. Respectfully Submitted, Ill. Byron K. Amerson 33rd |
